Competitive Teams
Ed promotes that his success has largely been the result of the leadership of specific teams.
In the center of an organization are project leads, who are directly responsible for the success or failure of the program. This is a lot of pressure, but the other parts of the team are also important parts of the overall success.
At the top is the executive steering committee. This is a cross-functional team, often chaired by a committee program director (VP or senior director) who can organize a group of senior executives at the company, who can decide the overall direction of the team. Their decisions are passed to the project leads, who guide those decisions into real life application.
At the lower level is the team, which can be a virtual team. This includes marketing analysts, field champions, or other extended teams. The field champions can provide feedback and direction, and identify the deliverables they need to be successful. They contribute to the overall success by being the success in the field. This lower level can provide the resources and information for success in the production of CI analysis.
This is the structure that will help your team and your company in addressing and grappling with the CI problem of scalability. Overall, the CI team is responsible for driving CI operations and delivering business results.
